Literature Text

I want things off
I can hardly wait for warmth
So I can go with skirts
Instead of pants that no longer fit
And I want to get a new swimsuit
That covers even less than my current one
So when I’m in Minnesota alone
I can take the bus to the Beach
And swim and soak up sun-rays
In hopes they’ll melt off
What is now excess skin which once fit perfectly
All while trying not to get sunburned
And I would like to rid myself
Of all the stuff my body is giving me
That I once never had to deal with
But I oughtn’t make summer my magical elsewhere
Especially since it’ll be spent in Minnesota
But all these body issues
Certainly aren’t something
I ever thought I’d have to deal with ever again
And I want to make up for it
And completely overcompensate
As I’ve been able to achieve a few days here and there
But who knows, man
I certainly don't
