Queer Dear

I get the feeling
that the inexplicable reputation I have
among young queer SPCPA boys
is that of notorious potential Janis to their Damien
and I know this isn’t popularity
nor does it feel like any genuine sort of love
but the fact that queer boys I’ve never met
come up to me and call me a queen
and more importantly trust me enough to confide in me
strikes me as such a sweet thing
even if the significance I have for them
is that of an archetypical ugly campy fruit-fly
it’s good to know I’m known for more
than being the insecure submissive freshmen I was
when I was standing in their trembling tap shoes
